Referral Program
Invite fellow pilots to PlaneWX. When someone you refer becomes a paying subscriber, you earn about a free month of PlaneWX — with no cap on how many you can earn.
How It Works

Share your link
Every account gets a personal referral link on your Profile page under Invite Pilots. Copy it or use Share to send it to a friend.

They sign up with your link
When they open your link and create an account, PlaneWX attributes that signup to you. Signing up alone does not earn a reward yet — they need to subscribe.

They become a paying subscriber
When they start a paid plan (Casual or Pro), your reward is scheduled. You'll get an email letting you know a referral converted.

Reward lands after 30 days
There's a 30-day holdback after they subscribe. Once that window passes, your free-month credit is applied automatically and you get a confirmation email.
Where to Find Your Link & Stats
Open Profile and scroll to the Invite Pilots section. You'll see your personal link, Copy / Share buttons, and a live summary of how your referrals are doing.
Referred
People who came through your link (including waitlist interest tracked with your code).
Signed Up
Pilots who created a PlaneWX account attributed to your referral.
Subscribed
Paying conversions that earn you a reward (applied or still in the 30-day holdback).
Below the counters, Your Referrals lists each pilot by name and home airport, with Free vs subscribed status so you can see who's still on the free plan.
What You Earn
The reward is framed as a free month of PlaneWX. How it's delivered depends on whether you already have a paid subscription:
If you're a paying subscriber
PlaneWX adds an account credit equal to about one month of your plan (monthly price, or annual price ÷ 12). That credit automatically reduces your next renewal invoice — you don't enter a coupon or do anything.
If you're on the free plan
PlaneWX extends your access by 30 days (and unlocks Pro for that window) so you still get a real free month even without a billing account yet.
No cap. Every pilot you refer who becomes a paying subscriber earns you another free month.
Rewards are based on your subscription price, not theirs. Casual and Pro subscriptions both count as a successful conversion for the person you referred.
The 30-Day Holdback
When your referral subscribes, the reward is scheduled immediately but not applied for 30 days. Invite Pilots shows pending rewards separately from credits already applied to your account.
That holdback keeps the program fair — the reward lands once the subscription has had time to stick. After 30 days, the credit (or free-month extension) is applied automatically.
Emails You'll Get
When they subscribe
A heads-up that your referral converted and that your reward is scheduled — with the date it becomes available after the holdback.
When the reward is applied
Confirmation that the free-month credit is live on your account and will reduce your next invoice (or that your access was extended, if you were on the free plan).
Tips for Sharing
- Send the full link from Invite Pilots — it looks like
https://www.planewx.ai/?ref=XXXXXXXX. - They should open your link before signing up so the referral sticks. If they already have an account, that signup can't be re-attributed later.
- Referring yourself doesn't earn a reward. Share the link with other pilots.
- New pilots can start on the free plan — you earn the reward when they later become a paying subscriber.
Common Questions
Do free-plan signups count?
They show up under Signed Up so you can track them, but the reward only unlocks when that pilot becomes a paying subscriber.
Why is my reward still pending?
Check the 30-day holdback. Invite Pilots shows pending dollars separately until that window ends and the credit is applied.
Will the credit show up as a longer subscription end date?
For paying subscribers, usually not — it's a billing credit that lowers the next invoice. For free-plan referrers, you get a true 30-day access extension instead.
Is there a limit?
No. Every successful paid conversion earns another free month. One reward per referred pilot — they can't generate multiple rewards for the same account.
