How monitored and saved flight slots work, how to stop watching a trip, and where Past Flights live after you land.
Monitored vs saved
Two different limits
Monitored flights are the ones PlaneWX is actively watching (auto-refresh on paid plans). In the app these show up as Active Flights when you look at plan limits. Saved flights are how many non-archived trips you can keep on your list.

A monitored (active) flight is one that has not departed yet, is set to receive weather updates, and is not archived. Full plan comparison: Plans.
Past Flights
After a trip is done, it shows under My Flights, then Past Flights. The list is newest first, 10 flights per page. Use filters to find legs that still need a flown / not-flown status.
- •Needs Status (flown/not flown) marks legs that are not cancelled and have not been confirmed flown or not flown yet (including trips PlaneWX never looked up on FlightAware).
- •From a Past Flights row you can open the briefing, start a Self Debrief (Pro Plus Labs), or clean up the trip.
Stop Monitoring a Trip
Keep the history but stop automatic weather updates by archiving (stop monitoring).
How to stop monitoring
- 1Find the trip card on your home screen
- 2Open the menu (⋮) on the trip card
- 3Choose Stop Monitoring or Archive Trip
What happens:
- • No more automatic briefing refreshes
- • No more email alerts for that trip
- • Trip watchers stop getting updates
- • The trip moves toward Past Flights / archived history
- • Briefing history stays available to review
- • Archived trips do not count against your monitored slot limit
Delete a Trip
Delete permanently removes the trip and its briefing history.
How to delete
- 1Find the trip on Home or under Past Flights
- 2Open the menu (⋮)
- 3Choose Delete Trip and confirm
This cannot be undone
Deleting removes briefing history, WX Score journey data, and FRAT assessments for that trip. Archive instead if you might want the record later.

Automatic archiving
PlaneWX moves completed trips out of your active list for you:
- •A trip is treated as past about 6 hours after estimated arrival (departure time + enroute time + 6 hours), then shows under Past Flights.
- •Briefing history and FRAT assessments stay available.
- •You may get a post-flight feedback email if that preference is on.
Tips
- • Delete test trips you created while learning
- • Archive cancelled trips if you might reschedule
- • Let completed trips auto-archive; check Past Flights for Needs Status
- • If you hit a slot limit, archive or delete old trips first
